About the Role
As a key leader in our Data Science team, you will define strategy, lead high-impact AI projects, and collaborate with healthcare professionals, engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable AI solutions. Your expertise will help shape predictive analytics for elderly care, with a strong focus on fall risk assessment, clinical data integration, and ethical AI deployment in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Model Development: Design, develop, and optimize predictive models for elderly fall risk assessment using advanced Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques.
- Data Analysis: Work with healthcare-specific datasets (patient records, sensor data, clinical data) to extract patterns and actionable insights.
- Domain Expertise Application: Apply deep healthcare knowledge to ensure models are accurate, reliable, and ethically compliant.
- Collaboration with Experts: Partner with clinicians, healthcare providers, and cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with clinical workflows and patient care strategies.
- Data Engineering: Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines to preprocess and integrate healthcare data from multiple sources while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Evaluation & Optimization: Continuously monitor model performance and fine-tune algorithms to enhance accuracy and scalability.
- Compliance & Ethics: Ensure adherence to regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR, maintaining best practices for data privacy and security.
- Research & Innovation: Keep abreast of the latest developments in healthcare AI, predictive analytics, and elderly care solutions, integrating innovative techniques where relevant.
- Team Leadership: Mentor team members, oversee daily deliverables, resolve technical challenges, evaluate performance, and foster skill development.
- Stakeholder Management: Present analytical insights, models, and business impact to senior leadership and healthcare stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
- Strong academic background in healthcare preferred.
Experience:
- 8–11 years of professional experience in Data Science, with at least 2 years in the healthcare domain.
- Proven track record in leading AI/ML projects in healthcare startups, hospitals, or MedTech companies.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and contributing to research/publications in healthcare AI.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages for ML and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with ML/DL frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with time-series, wearable, sensor, or IoT data is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, and feature engineering.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for scalable ML pipelines.
Healthcare Domain Knowledge:
- Understanding of geriatric healthcare challenges, fall risk factors, and predictive care strategies.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), wearable devices, and sensor data.
- Knowledge of healthcare data compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative and proactive team player.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of biomechanics or human movement analysis.
- Experience with Explainable AI (XAI) and interpretable ML models.
