Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller with a strong background in designing and implementing data models across enterprise-scale systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in data modeling, advanced SQL skills, and hands-on expertise with Azure data services and data integration tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data warehouses (EDW), analytics, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain entity-relationship diagrams to support data integration and business intelligence initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data models.
- Extract and analyze large datasets from diverse sources for transformation into actionable business insights.
- Work with T-SQL to write and optimize complex queries.
- Implement end-to-end data modeling processes including validation, calibration, and publication of models.
- Develop and maintain data models using tools such as PowerDesigner or Erwin.
- Understand and implement best practices in data governance, version control, and model management.
- Reverse-engineer legacy system schemas to support migration and integration into the EDW.
- Provide leadership in establishing data modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Document and communicate data models and associated metadata to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Define data movement and integration specifications across various EDW layers.
Required Skills:
- SQL (T-SQL): Advanced (Minimum 2 Years)
- Azure Data Services: Intermediate (Minimum 2 Years)
- Including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Blob Storage, and Azure SQL Database
- Data Modeling: Expert (Minimum 4 Years)
- Data Modeling Tools: Erwin or PowerDesigner (Minimum 2 Years)
- Databricks / PySpark: Working knowledge preferred
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and complex data relationships
- Domain knowledge in Consumer Products or related industries is a plus
Preferred Background:
- Prior experience with enterprise data warehouses (EDW) and BI solutions
- Strong understanding of data architecture and integration patterns
- Knowledge of model versioning and repository management
